Quick and Simple Taco Seasoning

Recipe by Gina Wilson

Taco Seasoning

Quick and Simple Taco Seasoning was shared with me for the blog by my sister! Her recipe allows a great from scratch way to get that taco flavor without all the preservatives! This is a super simple throw together recipe and it only takes a few staple spices that you probably already have in the pantry! Let’s get to the recipe so you can get started!

Quick and Simple Taco Seasoning Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 TBSP Cumin
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp Salt
Ingredients for Gina's Homemade Taco Seasoning

Quick and Simple Taco Seasoning directions:

  1. Mix spices together in a bowl
  2. Store in an airtight container

To Use:

Use 2 Tbsp of mix per 1 pound (lb) ground meat, then add seasonings to the meat while it is cooking. *See the tips section below for more tips!

Tips:

Use Organic Spices, I didn’t have all organic spices in my pantry yet. I also used Coarse Sea Salt because that is what I use in my kitchen. You can use any salt in this recipe. Just keep the measurements the same or add salt to your taste.

I ended up using Smoked Paprika when making this recipe and the smoked paprika just adds a hint of smokiness to your flavors.

*Brown your taco meat, then add the spices to it first, then add about 1 cup of water and cook until water is nearly gone. This makes the meat juicy!

This recipe requires minimal homestead substitutions! Enjoy this quick and simple recipe over and over again after putting it together only one time! I didn’t end up getting to use anything directly from our homestead in this recipe just yet. It’s a future goal of mine though!
